Fort Worth Dog Bite Lawyer: A 7-Year-Old Girl is Attacked by Rottweilers in Fort Worth, TexasThursday, October 11th, 2012
A 7-year-old girl was walking home from school with several other children at about 3:30 p.m. yesterday when she was suddenly attacked by two Rottweilers. The dog attack occurred in the girl’s neighborhood on Royal Drive.
Witnesses said the dogs bit the girl on her arms and her head. Her condition is serious, but she did not suffer any injuries considered to be life-threatening.
Thomas Harps, one of the witnesses, heard the girl screaming for help, in spite of his hearing problem. He says that he looked out of his front door and saw that the dogs were mauling the small girl. Harps rushed to her aid and managed to pull the dogs off of her.
The dogs had been seen by neighbors earlier in the day. They were recognized as dogs from the neighborhood, but they were running loose. Several people called animal control services and asked that the dogs be picked up. There was concern that the dogs might hurt someone, which is, of course, what happened. Anytime potentially aggressive dogs run loose, there is cause for concern.
The 7-year-old dog bite victim was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment, and her current condition is unknown.
